What began as a journey across America, turned into a photographic adventure. His family packed up their life; lock, stock and barrel, joining him on this amazing trip.

In the nearly two years travel which took us along the west coast, through Canada and into Alaska, he has amassed a wealth of nature shots like no others of their kind.

About the Artist

In 2004, thanks to a botched surgery performed by the Veterans Administration, Brenden Mulhern, Sr. became a disabled veteran. Life changed dramatically for him and his family. He went from being an ever-busy Project Manager to being permanently disabled.

Although no one would have chosen that path, his disability has allowed him to become an avid nature and wildlife photographer. Many times he has a totally different perspective on a shot than your average photographer, because he was forced to slow down his pace, allowing him to see the beauty that most just pass by.

He is mobility impaired and walks on good days or gets around on his electric scooter on the rough days. While it is true that he can’t make any strenuous hikes, he has managed to do some smaller hikes on his crutches, with his backpack of camera gear in tow.

Life threw him a curve, but he has decided to make the most of it, and Spirit of the Rockies sells his photography so that others will have an opportunity to see the hidden beauties of this country.
